Industrial flooring: what to expect

Walk through the RC Coatings flooring assessment, system selection, preparation and installation, cure planning, and cleaning and maintenance handover.

Read the video transcript

Your floor needs to support the work that happens on it. Washdowns, forklifts, chemical exposure, and production schedules all belong in the same conversation. RC Coatings helps you plan around those demands.

First, we discuss the operation, the problems you are seeing, and the time available for the project. Then we review the concrete, existing coatings, contamination, and moisture conditions.

Your proposal defines the preparation, repairs, flooring system, texture, and details such as transitions, cove, and drain interfaces. Urethane cement or another resinous system is selected for the actual exposure, not just appearance.

Before work begins, we coordinate access, isolation, staging, and the installation window. The crew prepares the substrate, completes the specified repairs, and installs the agreed system.

Return to service depends on the chosen materials, temperature, conditions, and cure requirements. We confirm that plan for your project rather than promising a universal weekend turnaround.

At handover, we review the completed work, cleaning, and maintenance. Tell us about your facility and request your flooring assessment with RC Coatings.

From the first call to handover

What to expect
from your flooring project.

A clear scope, an agreed plan, and practical next steps for your facility.

  1. Understand your operation

Discuss traffic, washdowns, chemicals, cleaning, and the time available for work.

  2. Assess and specify

Review the substrate and moisture conditions, then define preparation, repairs, system, texture, and details.

  3. Prepare and install

Coordinate access and isolation, mechanically prepare as specified, repair the substrate, and install the agreed system.

  4. Cure and return to service

Confirm cure conditions and the approved return-to-service plan, then review cleaning and maintenance needs.

The right system for the environment

Start with the demands.
Then select the floor.

01

Urethane cement

For demanding processing areas where temperature changes, washdowns, and heavy use shape the specification. Thickness, texture, and details are selected for the actual exposure.

Food & beverage · Wet processing
02

Resinous flooring

Epoxy and other resinous systems for manufacturing, warehouses, and commercial spaces. Evaluate chemical resistance, traffic, cleanability, and finish together.

Manufacturing · Warehousing
03

Repairs & upgrades

Address damaged areas, transitions, cove, and drain interfaces as part of a defined repair or upgrade scope. Plan maintenance around the areas that need attention.

Existing facilities · Turnovers
The details do the work

More than
a new surface.

Preparation, drainage details, and return-to-service requirements belong in the same conversation as the coating.

01

Substrate & preparation

Review concrete condition, contamination, existing coatings, and moisture before specifying preparation and repairs.

02

Use & exposure

Define traffic, cleaning procedures, temperatures, chemicals, and the balance between texture and cleanability.

03

Installation & handover

Coordinate access, installation conditions, cure requirements, and the approved return-to-service plan.

For teams responsible for the facility

Keep the next project
focused on the right problem.

Can you install during a weekend shutdown?+

We can evaluate weekend and shutdown windows. Feasibility depends on preparation, repairs, the chosen system, environmental conditions, and cure requirements. Timing is confirmed for the specific project.

Do you work beyond food and beverage?+

Yes. We work with industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, and commercial facility teams as well as food and beverage operations.

Can you address floor slope and drain details?+

We can review slope, transitions, cove, and drain interfaces as part of an assessment. Required corrections and any design requirements are established in the project scope.

Will a new floor guarantee an inspection outcome?+

No contractor can guarantee a facility’s regulatory or customer inspection outcome from a flooring installation alone. We discuss your facility requirements and select the proposed flooring scope accordingly.
