From automotive shop to bakery: four flooring systems

A former automotive repair space received a multi-system flooring package, with decorative office finishes and systems selected for processing, washdown and proofer areas.

4 systemsMatched to different areas
12,200 SFNovolac processing floor
800 SFUrethane cement floor

The challenge

The existing slab came from an automotive repair operation and had severe cracking, staining and joint failures. The conversion needed to support two different uses: a finished office environment and food-production areas exposed to chemicals, washdown and daily operating demands.

The work

RC Coatings completed 2,700 square feet of sealed concrete, 3,100 square feet of decorative metallic epoxy in office spaces, 12,200 square feet of novolac epoxy chemical slurry in processing areas, and 800 square feet of urethane cement in washdown and proofer areas.

The result

The completed package paired a custom metallic office finish with distinct systems in the production spaces. Flooring selection followed the use of each area rather than applying one finish across the entire facility.
