Processing floors finished with one fewer shutdown

Approximately 12,600 square feet of processing flooring completed in 11 days against a 16-day shutdown allowance, eliminating the final planned shutdown.

The challenge

A targeted fryer-area repair developed into a larger, phased flooring project around active production. The facility allocated four separate four-day shutdowns for the work. Each phase needed preparation, installation and equipment detailing within the available access window.

The work

RC Coatings completed extensive surface preparation, scarification, keyway cutting and detailing around equipment. The installed system was 3/8-inch Poly-Crete MD with a 16-grit sand broadcast finish, selected for the processing environment and its washdown demands.

The result

The project was completed in 11 days rather than the 16 days allotted. This eliminated the final planned shutdown and returned five days of scheduled production time to the facility. The relationship expanded into additional processing-floor and specialized repair work.
